Kathakali

Been fascinated by this art form ever since i can remember. The best of the lot from the cultural art forms of God's Own Country-Kerala I feel. Never had the confidence to attempt to bring this on a paper/canvas until I was in middle-school and now,I've did about 5-6 paintings. :) I post here the one i did on an A2 size canvas 2 years ago. Will post the remaining soon. :)

A Gift

A very very special friend was leaving and i was so confused about what i must gift her...something to remember our frendship, something that'll remind her about me...and i knew just the perfect thing. What better gift can i give her than an A3 size pencil sketch of Jesus ;).I kept it as a total surprise...and the day before she went back to India,i gave it and she sat speechless and shocked, said she loved it! :D and That's all i wanted!Missing her loads! :)

Theyyam

Got loads and loads of comments & appreciation...I'd like to thank each and everyone who supported me!Thanks y'all! :)

Wanna smoke??

Almost 3-4 months since I did any pencil sketchs...dont want to lose the touch and moreover a few pencil works need to be done before this year's vacations...for a few of my friends ;) so just to get the strokes right and the shading bit perfect am practicing a couple of warm-up random works...since i'd been painting all this while,a quick change wont be good,so decided to do a monochrome painting with a dash of pencil shading in it...

Next's going to be a pure pencil work...till my next blog post,Cheerz! ;)

Lady with the Mirror

My research on mural art continues.... I try and understand the fine details in each work, the different styles of brush strokes of each different artist, the mixing of shades, and the list goes on.Came across a couple of websites related to mural paintings on one of my random google search and in one of them I saw the original of this work....absolutely loved it!Till now all my mural works have been on A4 and A3 sheets....this time I wanted to do it BIG! and went 1 step furthur, and decided to do it on an A2 sheet[thats like half a normal chart size].The drawing and painting together took me almost 2 weeks and yup!pretty happy with the result... :)

All who saw the work said its come out really good and my determination to learn Mural painting professionally has increased twofold!Someday...I WILL! ;)
